Update: The road has been reopened after the serious crash.
A truck and a motorhome have collided on the Te Puke Highway.
Northern fire communications shift manager Megan Ruru said one person from the motorhome is seriously injured but out of the vehicle. The person is being treated by St John.
Three fire engines are at the crash.
She did not have details of further injuries.
The Bay of Plenty Times understands the road is blocked.
A police spokeswoman said they were told shortly before 10am that the vehicles had crashed between Rangiuru and Pah Rds.
Motorists are asked to avoid the area and use the following diversions - Brown Rd into Mark Rd through to Te Matai Rd.
A campervan has also rolled in high winds on State Highway 6, the Fairlie-Tekapo Rd.
No one was injured and the road is not blocked, but it will be some time before the vehicle can be towed out of the ditch because of the high winds.
Motorists with high-sided vehicles and motorbikes are asked to avoid the area.
The crash happened about 9.40am.
