Five people have escaped injury after the vehicle they were travelling in flipped onto its roof on a busy Hamilton street.
Te Aroha St is a busy feeder street for various schools and traffic is now backed up at either end after a maroon SUV rolled about 8am.
Waikato Senior Sergeant Pete van der Wetering said five people were in the car at the time, but three got themselves out.
Two were stuck in the car but were eventually freed and were assessed by St John Ambulance staff.
Van de Wetering said it was unclear how the crash, at the intersection of Argyle and Te Aroha streets, happened but he advised motorists to expect delays as the street was down to one lane.
