Emergency services are attending a blaze in a Mt Eden apartment complex.

The fire broke out at a three-level apartment on the corner of Harold and Enfield Sts at about 8.30am.

Senior station officer Phil Grace said the fire started on the second level and because it was reported early it was quickly brought under control.

No one was in the apartment at the time of the fire and it was too early to confirm the cause, he said.

Grace said five fire engines and two aerial units attended the fire as a precaution because the apartment was part of a multi-unit complex.

More to come.
