Police are looking for an armed man who robbed a Ngaruawahia dairy today.

A police spokeswoman said the offender entered Mills Pricecutter Dairy on Whatawhata Ave at 11.19am. He had a weapon and asked for money.

A police dog unit was sent out to track down the man.

An elderly man and woman were working in the dairy at the time, Fairfax reported.

The shaken couple were taken home to recuperate.

A man, who did not want to be named, told Fairfax it was the second time in 14 months the dairy had been robbed. He said the elderly couple are the owner's parents.
