A man has been found dead at the wheel of a vehicle which had crashed in to a bakery in Thames.
Police were called to Pollen St, Thames shortly before 3.45pm after reports a vehicle had driven into a bakery on the town's main street.
When emergency services arrived, the man was found dead in the vehicle.
Police are advising motorists that Pollen St is closed between Walter St and Mary St, and they are asked to avoid the area.
A fire service spokesman said the man died of a heart attack.
Two witnesses at the scene said a staff member from Total Health Pharmacy ran a block down the road to get a defibrillator from Farmers to try and revive the man.
"Police are still there cleaning up the mess," one witness said, at 5pm.
She said the heard a bang, and then looked outside to see a car had smashed into the building.
"I looked down the road and there was this car on the footpath."
The woman said her main concern was that pedestrians may have been hit, but the fire service spokesman said no one else was injured in the incident.
