A stolen car has been removed from a creek in West Auckland.
A police spokesman said no one was in the car when it was removed from the water.
Earlier this evening, police divers were at the scene where the car was found submerged in Henderson Creek.
Police, fire and ambulance were called to the scene, at Selwood Road, Te Atatu, at 3.30pm.
A witness said the car was upside down in the creek, near a boat ramp, with just its back wheels showing.
He said the tide was coming in rapidly and the car would soon be fully submerged.
A tow truck has been called, and will soon attempt to remove the car from the creek.
A police spokesman said he didn't know how long the car has been there, or how it got there.
He said stolen cars had been dumped at that location in the past.
