A young New Zealander has been killed in a car crash in Queensland.
Joshua Howard, 20, died at the scene of the crash on Sugars Rd, Anstead, on Friday evening.
He was the passenger in a car, and was travelling to pick up car parts, his family said.
Mr Howard, who was originally from Christchurch, was living on the Gold Coast.
His life was "cut short in a terrible car accident", a tribute on GoFundMe said.
"A well loved young man and a promising future ahead.
"The family are completely devastated with the unexpected death of a son, brother, fiance."
The GoFundMe page had been set up to "raise some funds for unexpected costs, funeral expenses and anything else that may arise for Ingrid and Ryan [Mr Howard's parents] and Ebony [Blacksell, his girlfriend] during this painful period", it said.
Almost $7000 has been donated since the page was set up three days ago.
A thank you message from the page organiser said the money was "be a huge help to the family".
Initial investigations suggested the vehicle had left the road before smashing into a fence and a tree, police said.
Mr Howard died a the scene, while the 21-year-old male driver from Anstead was rushed to Royal Brisbane and Women's Hospital for treatment to a head laceration.
Queensland police's forensic crash unit is investigating the incident.
