To the Tree Fellas who bought a cherry picker up our driveway to cut down a next-door neighbour's tree without seeking permission to use the driveway and broke the concrete and have not done anything to rectify the problem, we could do without this extra expense at Christmas.

Customer service at its best: Danni at Animates St Lukes, who went to lengths to determine which food we purchased at another store for our fussy moggy. Then found my $10 loyalty voucher online and carried the heavy bag to the car. A breath of fresh air as retailers get busier.

If commercial vehicles repeatedly park In a taxi zone, they are fined. Not if the taxi zone is outside the Waitakere Court building in Henderson. You are doing work inside the building so are apparently immune to the law.

Yesterday, we visited Santa at Snowplanet in Silverdale. The Santa set-up was brilliant but the Santa himself was the most loving and caring Santa I have seen in all my 31 years. I managed to get this picture on my phone. It's too beautiful to not share at Christmas.

I find it annoying when I'm walking in Queen St trying to be on time to work and I get blocked by sales people standing on the footpath trying to sell or sign you up to whatever organisation they work for.

Today I dropped my wallet at a car park at the top of Ponsonby Rd. Unaware of this I received a call from the ANZ Bank branch in Karangahape Rd 30 minutes later to inform me it had been handed in by two young students, Dominico and Tarsi from Otara, with a substantial amount of cash, credit cards, drivers licence etc still inside. Luckily, the bank staff got their contact number, so I could send a big thank-you along with a Christmas bonus.
