A welcome return for a game last seen being shut down on school fields in the 1990s.
Up to a thousand people have descended on North Harbour Stadium this afternoon for a round of bullrush.
The event organiser, Sam Ward from Tika Training, says many people wanted to have another run of the game that encourages them to overcome adversity, because they were banned from playing at school.
He says it was an over-excitable idea that took off thanks to the help of social media.
