A fire that broke out in a Christchurch flat this morning was quickly brought under control, says the fire service.
A Southern fire service communications spokeswoman said appliances were called to a fire in a flat on Stanmore Road in Christchurch at 7.45am.
Two appliances attended the scene, and called for another at 7.55am.
The fire was not well involved when the appliances arrived, and the first truck left at 8.12am, she said.
She said there were no reports of injuries, and a fire safety officer was not called to the scene.
