Four motor vehicle accidents claimed the lives of four men on the country's roads at the weekend.
A motorcyclist died on Saturday afternoon near Turangi on State Highway 41.
Dunedin man Brendon Phillip Ross, 25, died instantly when the car he was driving hit a tree stump on Mt Grand Rd in Dunedin at 7pm on Saturday. Police said speed was believed to be a factor in the crash.
Another man died on Saturday night in the Waikato when the car he was driving rolled. The crash happened on Owairaka Valley Rd, near Arapuni, 14km west of Putaruru.
The fourth fatal accident was yesterday's Bethells Beach sand-dune crash.
