National recall of several Yoplait products

National Foods have voluntary recalled its Yoplait Go-Gurt and Smackers tube products because of a packaging defect.

A National Foods spokeswoman said the defect could cause a choking hazard, especially for young children.

There was a risk of small pieces of clear plastic film separating from the outside of the tube, she said.

The spokeswoman said while the risk to consumers was low, it was recalling all potentially affected products as a precautionary measure.

Anyone who had purchased any of the below products should return it where they purchased it from to get a refund.

National Foods said it apologised for any inconvenience.

The products affected were all dates up to and including September 27 2008 on:

Yoplait Go-Gurt Spiders pack of 8x70g

Yoplait Go-Gurt Strawberry and Fruit Salad pack of 8x70g

Yoplait Go-Gurt Raspberry and Apricot pack of 8x70g

Yoplait Smackers

Yoplait Smackers Strawberry pack of 8x70g

Yoplait Smackers Peach and Pineapple pack of 8x70g
