Name suppression for a man accused of murdering a 5-month-old baby lapsed today.
The case of 24-year-old Troy Solomon was called in his absence at the High Court in Auckland today where his lawyer Jan Northwood was unable to advance an argument to extend suppression orders.
Justice Graham Lang lifted the orders covering the defendant's name but continued suppression of the victim's details.
The 5-month-old died on August 7 in Pukekohe after suffering a fractured skull and broken leg, police said.
Solomon will next be before the court in February with a trial date set down for September next year.
