Found dirty, alone and afraid in an Auckland Countdown carpark, Eva was vulnerable.

Picked up by a member of the public, she was taken straight to the SPCA and was cared for there.

She soon became a favourite of the staff.

"She turned into a little poser, perching like a meerkat - almost like she was begging for a home," a SPCA staff member said.

After one month to the day of coming to the SPCA, Eva was adopted.

Her new family adores her and she is well looked after. She is given her choice of pink blankets, cosy hammocks and endless snuggles.

"She is an awesome cat with the best personality," her mother Maree Howcroft said, adding she loves to sleep on their pillows and sometimes on their face at night.
