Southern Cross Healthcare has appointed Michael Milsom to the position of group financial controller. Before joining Southern Cross he was an associate director at Staples Rodway Consulting where he provided strategic and corporate finance advice.

Allan Bates has been appointed head of Major Client Group at the Bank of New Zealand in Auckland. Bates was most recently regional manager for the personal market in Auckland and has worked in the investment finance area since 1986 both in New Zealand and in Britain.

Recruitment consultancy firm Robert Walters has appointed Tim Slyfield as manager of its Finance Permanent Team. Slyfield recently returned from four years in London where he was a senior manager with financial recruitment firm FSS.

Technology Solutions company Gen-i has appointed Joanna Price to the position of client manager. Her role spans Gen-i's total technology services. Price has more than 12 years IT industry experience in New Zealand and Britain. She is returning to Gen-i from Axon where she held the position of software specialist.

Bayer has appointed William Malpass as corporate communications manager for New Zealand. Malpass was previously with the Waitemata District Health Board.
