Bruce Davidson has been appointed president of the Institute of Directors in New Zealand. Davidson is a professional director and independent chairman and is a fellow of the institute. His tenure of two years takes effect immediately. Rick Bettle has been appointed vice-president. He is a fellow of the institute and chairman of the Wellington branch.

Paul Wilkinson has been appointed business manager of Systime Computer Company. He will be responsible for managing business relationships with key accounts.

Vito Lo Iacono has been appointed manager, events group of the newly formed New Zealand Trade and Enterprise. Iacono was previously major events manager of Industry New Zealand.

Chris Lewis, formerly national manager for Elan IT Recruitment Solutions, has been appointed account director for recruitment company Management Search International. He has more than 10 years' experience in New Zealand's recruitment industry.

Steve Kane has returned to Publicis Drum - the PR and events division of Publicis Mojo - as general manager. Kane left Drum in 1999 for Britain where he worked in a variety of senior PR roles.

Leanne Court has recently been appointed national business manager with Gaulter Russell, sales and marketing recruitment specialists. She was previously with Goodman Fielder. Brad Gatehouse has also recently joined as a consultant. He was previously a manager with Robert Walters NZ.

Dave Marriott has joined infrastructure maintenance company, Transfield Services (NZ), as business development manager. Based at the Auckland headquarters, he is responsible for identifying and developing new business opportunities, industry trends and developments and opportunities for long-term alliances.

Darrin Murray has been appointed chief executive of Brannigans Human Capital, a new Christchurch based human resource company. The former New Zealand international cricketer has just returned from one year in Europe where he managed the restructure of PDL Electronics European business and successful integration into Schneider-Electric Europe.

Advanced paramedic Donna Austin is taking up the top position of district operations manager for the Northland District of St John northern region. Donna has a previous background both as a volunteer and professional ambulance officer.
