A motorcyclist is in a serious condition after colliding with a truck in Taihape.
A police spokeswoman said they were called at 9.30am to a crash on State Highway 1 near Otaihape Valley Rd.
A helicopter had been requested and the road was blocked, she said.
It would be helpful if motorists avoided the area if possible, she said.
