A heavily pregnant woman who went missing from Palmerston North Hospital has been found.

31-year-old Christine Smith was last seen at the hospital at 1.20pm today, but police said she has since returned safe and well.

Smith is 38 weeks pregnant and police said they had concerns for her wellbeing.
