A man who went missing from his Panmure home on Saturday has been found dead.
Dean Phillips, 59, was last seen at his home in Panmure on Saturday evening. Police confirmed today, after notifying Mr Phillips' family, that his body had been found and identified.
"The body of a male located on Gentleman's Bay, St Heliers yesterday has been identified as that of Dean Phillips reported missing on the weekend," a police spokesman said.
"Police have referred Mr Phillips death to the coroner".
Mr Phillips left home on Saturday night and when he didn't return his family posted photographs and appeals for information and sightings on social media.
"I saw him when he returned home for the evening and had assumed he had simply gone to bed until this morning when my mother informed me he hadn't," his son Evan Phillips told the Herald on Sunday night.
Evan Phillips said his father changed clothes and left the house during the night but they did not know what he was wearing.
His car, scooter, wallet and phone were left behind.
"He's an outstanding father and husband, he's intelligent, kind, and I've never known anyone to work as hard as him," Evan Phillips said.
