Police today found a clandestine laboratory used for manufacturing methamphetamine in a Levin backyard.
Constable Andrew Townsend said police were called to a residential property after the owner discovered strange items in the yard.
He said the owner was not connected to the lab.
Various chemicals and equipment used for drug manufacturing were found and Environmental Science and Research scientists were today processing the lab.
Mr Townsend said police were continuing inquiries to try to identify who was responsible for the equipment.
