Manslaughter charge over death of Hastings man

A man has been charged with manslaughter over the death of a 65-year-old man in suburban Hastings. The man died in Hawkes Bay Hospital on Saturday afternoon, about 24 hours after being admitted with serious head injuries following an incident in a house at Kauri Place, Mahora.

Police said that a 52-year-old man would face a manslaughter charge in Hastings District Court today.

He initially appeared on Saturday and was remanded without plea in custody.
