The man killed in a motorcycle crash north-east Taupo on Wednesday evening was Te Wanehi Wakefield from Taradale.
Wakefield, 56, died when the bike he was riding collided with a truck on State Highway 1 about 7pm.
The serious crash unit investigated the crash, which happened at Atiamuri, between Tahu
and Kemp Rds.
Police confirmed this evening Wakefield was the man who died in the crash.
