A 16-year-old female is in Auckland Hospital with moderate injuries, while the other three have been treated for their injuries and have since been discharged.
The Waitematä Police Serious Crash Unit and the Waitakere CIB is investigating the circumstances of the crash, while the Independent Police Conduct Authority has also been notified.
The name of the dead man has not yet been released.
Pedestrians killed
Two pedestrians were also killed in the early hours of this morning in two accidents in Bay of Plenty, just one hour apart.
The first pedestrian died this morning shortly after 4am when struck by a vehicle on State Highway One, north of Tokoroa.
Serious crash investigators were at at the scene this morning.
Meanwhile, a second person died in Opotiki after a collision between a car and a pedestrian on Waioeka Road about six kilometres west of the Bay of Plenty town shortly before 5am.
Road diversions are in place and serious crash investigators are also on the scene.
The identity of the victims are yet to be released.
