A man spent Christmas night in pain after falling off a quad bike yesterday evening, rescue helicopter staff say.
The Waikato Westpac Rescue Helicopter was sent to an isolated beach bach near Te Maika, south of the Kawhia harbour mouth, about 7.30 this morning.
A 40-year-old man with a serious
chest injury and was flown to Waikato Hospital in Hamilton.
There was no road access to the place where the man hurt himself.
