Man gets hand caught in hopper

A man has been taken to Middlemore hospital after getting his hand caught in a hopper in east Tamaki.

The man was helped free by fire services at Nutrimetrics Manufacturing in east Auckland around 4pm.

An ambulance spokeswoman said the man was being transferred to Middlemore with moderate injuries but could not yet confirm how extensive they were.

A manager at Nutrimetrics said he could not comment on how the incident had happened until emergency services had finished at the scene.
