Man dies from injuries received in Christchurch house fire

A man has died following a house fire on Burwood Rd, in Christchurch.

A man rescued from a fire in Christchurch last night has died of his injuries.

He suffered critical burns in the fire and was taken to Christchurch Hospital.

Police were called to help Fire and Emergency Services at the house fire in Burwood Rd, Christchurch, shortly after 5.30pm yesterday.

Fire crews from Wainoni, New Brighton and St Albans attended the fire.

The man's death will be referred to the coroner.
