Man charged with murder after Western Springs death

A 29-year-old man has been charged with murder in relation to a death in Western Springs this week.

The man will appear in the Auckland District Court this morning.

Police are continuing to investigate after a 69-year-old man was found dead in the stairwell of a block of flats in Western Springs.

Detective Inspector Scott Beard said police cannot release the name of the victim until he has been formally identified and next of kin have been notified.
