A man armed with a machete today made off with a sum of money after threatening staff at an Auckland bakery, police said.
The offender, described as Polynesian, went into the shop in St Heliers about 5.45am just as the manager and his two staff were opening the premises.
After making threats, he took off with a sum of money believed to be less than $200.
The offender then left the scene in a waiting car driven by an accomplice.
