A man accused of stealing puppies from the SPCA and wielding a firearm in a shopping mall car park will appear in court today.
Police today said a 34-year-old man had been charged with disorderly behaviour and presenting a firearm after an incident at the Richmond Mall about 11.30am yesterday.

He is also facing an additional charge of burglary in relation to the theft of puppies from the Hokitika SPCA last weekend.
The man would appear in Nelson District Court today.
Police have asked for any witnesses to the car park incident to contact Nelson police on (03) 546 3840. Information can also be given anonymously by calling Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
