A male pedestrian has died after being hit by a car in Netherton, Hauraki District.
Police and ambulance were notified of the incident on Wharepoa Rd at about 9.50pm.
The driver of the car is assisting police with inquiries.
Wharepoa Rd is closed between State Highway 2 (Pekapeka Rd) and
Hamilton Rd, while the Serious Crash Unit attends the scene.
Diversions are in place.
