Two of the college sides, Makoura and Wairarapa, grabbed the limelight when matches in Netball Wairarapa's premier one competition resumed after the holiday break at the Colombo Rd courts in Masterton on Saturday.
Makoura College, brimming with confidence after two wins in as many matches in the Wellington secondary schoolssuper league, had an expected close tussle with Pioneer Blue and ran out 35-30 winners.
Even more enthralling was the battle between arch rivals Wairarapa College and St Matthew's Collegiate. It went right to the wire with Wairarapa College winning 41-39.
The other premier division match played saw Carterton New World Legends stave off a spirited Baywide Gladstone challenge 56-44.
