The winner will pocket the prize-money after winning the Powerball First Division in tonight's live draw.
The winning ticket was bought at Countdown Pukekohe south, and was made up on $8 million from Powerball First Division and $1 million from Lotto First Division.
It follows a mammoth $27 million Powerball win for a lucky couple from Thames just three weeks ago.
Strike Four was also won tonight, by a player in Rotorua, who will pocket $500,000.
