One lucky Lotto player from Whangārei has woken up millions of dollars richer after winning last night’s Powerball jackpot.

The lucky numbers were 17, 14, 31, 2, 33 and19. The Bonus Ball was 9 and the Powerball was 1.
Having won Powerball First Division, the Whangārei player is also taking home an extra $200,000 after splitting the $1m First Division cash prize with four other players.
Two players from Auckland and Waikato bought their lucky tickets through MyLotto, while the other two were sold in-store at Shree Superette in Auckland and Four Square Raumati Beach in Paraparaumu.
An Auckland player, who also bought their ticket through MyLotto, won $200,000 in the Strike Four round.
And another ticket holder from Auckland will pocket $48,330 from Powerball Second Division, while a further 10 players will get a welcome pre-Christmas financial boost of $28,928 each from Lotto Second Division.
The winning tickets were sold at various stores throughout Auckland, Christchurch and Hamilton, and via MyLotto to players from Wellington and Christchurch.

Last night’s jackpot was the largest prize since one player took home a $16m jackpot on December 10.
In November, three players split a record-breaking $55m Lotto jackpot.
The winners of the November 15 draw each took home $18.3m.
One of the tickets was sold at New World Kawerau and its owner, Clare Gallagher, said the town’s residents were “really excited about some great news for Kawerau”.
Ticket holders can see immediately if they have won if they purchased a ticket through MyLotto. Prizes of $1000 or less are automatically credited to the account.
For prizes exceeding $1000, winners must complete an online prize claim form.
Winners with physical tickets must still visit a Lotto retailer to claim their prize.
For the Powerball jackpot to be claimed, a ticket holder must get all six Lotto numbers correct as well as the added Powerball number.
