A second flightless earthquake refugee has been welcomed to Picton's EcoWorld Aquarium and Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre.
In keeping with the seismological theme, the baby blue penguin has been named Aftershock.
Aftershock will join her fellow little blue penguin Little Tremor, who was found wandering on a track in the Sounds
the day after the Kaikoura quake.
Two tourists from Holland found Little Tremor and took him to the Picton Veterinary Clinic.
He is thought to have been abandoned by his parents.
