Today on the show, host Jamie Mackay catches up with Niwa’s principal scientist Chris Brandolino, and Federated Farmers for an update on the flooding in Otago and Southland, all while a State of Emergency has been declared in Dunedin, The Country’s HQ.

The president of Otago Federated Farmers takes time out from his flooded West Otago farm to update a shocker for southern farmers.

Tim Dangen and Emma Poole:

Today’s farmer panel features the 2022 and 2023 Young Farmers of the Year. Poole discusses mating underway in the Waikato, concerns for her southern counterparts, and Fonterra’s road show reporting results and farmers’ reactions.

Dangen talks about how district entries have opened for Young Farmers, the Zanda McDonald entries also open and an update from his Murawai beef farm.
