A massive electrical storm has left some Mt Eden and Balmoral residents and businesses without power this afternoon.
The thunder and lightning storm hit around midday.
A Vector spokeswoman said contractors were rushing to the area to investigate.
She said Vector wasn't yet aware of the extent of the outage
but power was hoped to be up and running again by 3pm.
Meanwhile, some Mt Roskill residents are also without power after a car hit a power pole just after midday.
