In September, Brown revealed that he and his partner were expecting their first child, the Daily Mail reported.
The 25-year-old signed the biggest contract in NRL history back in March, worth a reported $14.5 million over 10 years, beginning in the 2026 season.
The deal, with the Newcastle Knights, ended a long association with the Parramatta Eels, where he made his senior debut in 2019.
He left New Zealand as a 15-year-old to pursue a league career with the club, with whom he appeared 142 times across seven seasons.
The move was heavily talked about in the Australian media, and Brown was moved to play outside his usual position last season by coach Jason Ryles as Parramatta looked to the future.

He told the Heraldin October that despite the noise from outside of the club, “everyone inside of the club was pretty good”.
“Everything was clear from [Jason Ryles] about [why] I wasn’t playing and it was obviously because I wasn’t part of the future and that’s what he needed to focus on. I played all over the park, learned a few new things and I had a bit of fun.”
Brown got back on track during the Kiwis’ Pacific Championship campaign as the playmaker helped guide New Zealand to victory by setting up three tries in the final against Samoa.
