Kiwi killed while climbing in Croatia - report

A New Zealander has reportedly died while climbing on the Dalmatian Coast in Croatia.

The Croatian Mountain Rescue Service received a call for help from two climbers at Ilinac rock at about 7pm (local time) on Sunday.

They found an injured Finnish woman about half way up the 250m rock, Croatia Week reported.

A New Zealand climber was found dead about 50m below, it said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade said it was following up on reports a New Zealander has been killed in a climbing accident in Croatia.
