Kindy teachers to get salary

Childcare teachers covered by a new employment agreement will be paid a salary rather than an hourly rate.

Their union, the Educational Institute, said 800 teachers and support staff working in 150 non-profit private early childhood education centres were covered by the new agreement.

Salaries for teachers and head teachers would range from $27,139 to $45,044.
