Wairarapa United are now involved in a five-way battle for the 2012 Central League title.

Their come-from-behind 2-2 draw with Petone on Saturday took them to 25 points, two behind Wellington Olympic. Also very much in contention are Napier City Rovers (24), defending champions Miramar Rangers (22) and Lower Hutt City (21).

Of those sides, Olympic have played 13 of their scheduled 18 matches with the other four having played 12.

Wairarapa United coach Phil Keinzley said the big plus about his team's position was their destiny lay very much in their own hands.

"For us it's simple, win all our last six games and the title is ours," he said. "But a loss or even a draw would bring in a lot of other possible equations, that's what we need to avoid."
