Car thieves not so flush: A reader writes ... "My car was parked outside the bridge club in Rotorua last week and sometime during the evening burglars broke into it by prying off both front door locks. There wasn't much to steal - a handful of change - but they
got into the boot and stole 36 rolls of toilet paper which I had planned to take to our office."

A reader would like to point out the dress given to Heather Mills from her step-daughter designer Stella McCartney may have had another meaning altogether. "As a person interested in Cockney rhyming slang, I would have thought that Raspberry Ripple on a woman's dress would stand for something other than cripple ... if Mills wore the dress as it was apparently designed (bra-less) then the real meaning would be obvious to all."

A Californian judge has lost his job for being rude. Judge Bruce Van Voorhis was sacked after the Commission on Judicial Performance found 11 acts of misconduct in an inquiry into his behaviour. They included telling a public defender from Ecuador to "lose the accent" and throwing files at a clerk, says NBC4. He also deliberately ruled against a novice prosecutor to see "how she would handle it" and told a defence lawyer that his questioning was "not the way to prove a case". (Source: Ananova.com.)

An Italian cosmetics manufacturer has created a new range of bathroom products that smell of pizza. Creator Ducio Cresci from Florence believes the traditional Italian dish should indulge all the senses, not just the stomach, and so created the luxury bubble bath, soap and body lotion.
