A reader writes: "Bureaucracy gone mad? A woman and her 5-month-old baby came into the Manurewa Cosmopolitan Club. The door person asked
the mother to remove the baby's woollen hat because hats were not to be worn in the club. Another time a child was stopped because he had a number on the back of his T-shirt, and numbers on the back of rugby shirts are not allowed. His grandparents had to turn his T-shirt inside out to gain entry. This is a great, well-run family club but surely this is a bit over the top?"

Karen says, "In respect to the All Blacks' Water for Everyone brand on sale ... shouldn't we support New Zealander's putting money back into New Zealand communities rather than some international company like Coca-Cola or Frucor flogging water and taking the profits offshore? Good on Ali and Richie I say ... I hope they sell truckloads of their water. I am making the switch."

A reader writes: "In regards to the smacking referendum: has anyone else noticed how you can easily read which box has been ticked through the back of the envelope because $9 million of taxpayer money later, they put the "orange out" on the wrong side of the envelope? Let's hope no one starts "editing" which voting papers are delivered and which are "lost".

Account manager Abbey Sherwell was fired after sending an abusive email to a client asking why he was "so ****ed in the head." The Australian, who worked for Entertainment Books in Melbourne, was supposed to forward the message to a colleague but instead replied to the client. She was asked by the client about the cost of her company's products after attempting his own calculations. Her reply began: "Hey, this guy is a d**k ... as you know, I have been trying to get him to track and he has decided to do it himself." The email ended: "Why are all the people I deal with so ****ed in the head?". the client replied: "Thanks Abbey, received your feedback, cancel our business immediately."
