A 15-year-old boy has been flown to Waikato Hospital with suspected head injuries suffered in a rugby game in Te Awamutu today.
The Philips Search and Rescue Trust said the Waikato Westpac rescue helicopter was dispatched to Te Awamutu at 12.45pm after the boy was hurt in "a heavy tacklein a rugby game".
The helicopter landed on a sports field to meet up with a local ambulance, which initially responded to the patient, and flew him directly to Waikato Hospital.
