One of the infamous Ingham twins failed to turn up to court today and a warrant has been issued for her arrest.

Sarah Ingham, 37, who with her sister Joanne made international headlines when they swam through crocodile-infested waters in 1997, failed to turn up to Hutt Valley District Court today where she faces a number of charges.

She is accused of driving while disqualified, breaching community work, giving false details of her identity, disorderly behaviour and resisting arrest.

Last month, Ingham, known for a large birthmark on her face, appeared before Judge Tim Black.

Ingham's lawyer said her client was "dealing with personal issues that may have contributed to the charges in court".

She acknowledged there was media attention to the case, but the charges brought before the court today were of "low level".

Sarah and Joanne claimed to have jumped ship off the Queensland Coast and swum through crocodile-infested waters in 1997.

Both married their Malaysian partners and lived in Malaysia but are believed to have left them and returned to New Zealand with their children in 2004.
