Crime scene: Robber leaves Hamilton credit union staff shaken

Police want to hear from anyone who witnessed an aggravated robbery at the Anglesea St credit union office about 10 am last Wednesday.

The offender approached staff, pointed what appeared to be a pistol at them and demanded money. He made off down Anglesea St towards the new transport centre with an amount estimated to be thousands of dollars.

No one was hurt in the robbery but staff and customers were shaken and upset.

The offender is described as Maori, of solid to fat build and aged in his late twenties or early thirties.

He was wearing light-coloured clothing, a baseball cap and sunglasses, and had a carry bag.
