Police believe that two robberies in Hamilton last weekend may be related.
About 9.45 on Friday night two men, one armed with a screwdriver, robbed a video shop in the Urlich Ave shopping centre.
On Sunday night, a man similar in appearance to the armed man in the earlier incident
robbed the Shell service station in Pembroke St and took a small amount of cash. The offender again threatened the attendant with a screwdriver.
In both cases, the man is described as Maori, in his late teens, fair-skinned, and wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt, baggy jeans and work boots. His companion in the first robbery was of similar age and description. Any information should be given to Hamilton police on (07) 858-6200.
