The man was admitted to hospital yesterday morning, succumbing to his injuries this morning despite medical staffs’ efforts to save him.
Detective Senior Sergeant and Western Bay of Plentyarea investigations manager Natalie Flowerdew-Brown said police are now working to determine the full circumstances of the incident and locate the individuals involved.
A scene examination is under way in and around Manoeka, and residents can expect a continued police presence over the coming days.
“Police would like to hear from anyone who may have CCTV or dashcam footage in the Manoeka area on Saturday, October 25 between 10am and 11am,” Flowerdew-Brown said.

Other properties across the road also had their driveways taped off and the property directly opposite had a police car at the end of it
