Homicide investigation after body found in Upper Hutt

Police are hunting three men over a suspicious death in Upper Hutt.

A homicide investigation was launched after a body was found at a house in Ward St, Wallaceville, shortly after midnight.

"Upon arrival, they located a person deceased inside the address,'' a police statement said this morning.

No other details about the person, including their age or gender, has been released.

Scene examination tents have been erected at the property.

A police spokesman said police were seeking three men in relation to the death.

They did not believe firearms were involved and had not recovered any weapons.

Detective Senior Sergeant Warwick McKee, of the Wellington Criminal Investigations Bureau, said the property had been cordoned off and was now the subject of a scene examination today.

"Police would like to hear from any members of the community that may have any information in regards to any persons involved in this matter,'' he said.
