Recently released CCTV footage shows the moment a convicted hit-and-run driver stumbles home after leaving a teenage boy to die.
The footage, seized by police, was released yesterday and shows Zhenghang Yu, 34, arriving home 10-15 minutes after he hit and killed 16-year-old Jacob Pakura.
Pakura died after he washit by a car when he was skateboarding near his Glen Eden home on January 15.
Yu was arrested three days later and plead guilty to killing the 16-year-old. He was charged with dangerous driving causing death, failing to stop and ascertain injury or death after a crash and dangerous driving.
He was sentenced at the Auckland District Court to four years in jail.
Jacob Pakura, 16, from Glen Eden was killed in a hit-and-run when he was knocked from his skateboard in the early hours of January 15.
Video footage from Yu's house, released via an Official Information Act request, shows Yu parking in his driveway and two women running out to meet him.
One of them then helps him out of the car, before the group walks around the vehicle to briefly survey it.
Yu is then assisted part-way down the driveway before he stumbles off towards the house.
