Highcliff Dunedin fires: Firefighters say large burns under control

Two large but controlled burns can be seen in the Highcliff area of Dunedin this afternoon.

Fire and Emergency New Zealand confirmed crews responded to both fires on the Otago Peninsula, which were “extremely visible”.

There was no risk of the fire spreading further at this stage, and property owners were in attendance.
